About Dylan
Photographer, Artist, Motion Designer, Musican
I’m a Colorado native that’s moved around and pursued a variety of interests and acquired various skills along the way. After graduating Art School I received a job working for a production company in Los Angeles working as an Editor, Writer, and Director on Television Shows and Music Videos.
After L.A. I moved to Chicago and worked on some indie feature films as well as some commercials before finding a full-time gig in advertising. I continued to hone my production and animation skills but soon photography took over.
After moving back to Colorado I started photography full-time focusing on weddings, and now portraits and headshots.
I am that perfect balance of someone who feels like a friend, can make you laugh, and also takes the way you look, very seriously.

I am proud to say I am certified Professional Photographer by the PPA. What does it mean exactly?
You have to take a timed written exam asking you everything about lenses, cameras, inverse square law, light ratios, image processing, camera sensors, the sunny 16 rule, the exposure triangle. Basically anything and everything technical about being a photographer. After 13 years of business I passed on my first attempt. Honestly, I should have.
Then is the image portion where oddly enough you have to take a series of images using crayons, foam white ball, a sharpie, and a wood mannequin. It asks you to photograph in specific angles and image depth of field, and requires a certain level of light in specific areas - here's the trick - they don't tell you how much light power you need your flashes or light to have. You need to know the exposure triangle and to use your light meter to make sure you have the correct light values. Again, passed on my first try.
What does this mean for you? You can rest assured I know my light. I know how to see it, read it, and fix it. This means in any lighting condition I am able to manipulate it the way I need to make the photo great. As a result, you look great too.
You can also tell your clients and family... I had my photo taken by a certified professional photographer. No really. He had to do a whole thing.
In short, I take this responsibility to give you exceptional images seriously. This is just one way I do that.
